Full Description

Neil Campbell and Jane Reece’s BIOLOGY remains unsurpassed as the most successful majors biology textbook in the world. This text has invited more than 4 million students into the study of this dynamic and essential discipline. The authors have restructured each chapter around a conceptual framework of five or six big ideas. An Overview draws students in and sets the stage for the rest of the chapter, each numbered Concept Head announces the beginning of a new concept, and Concept Check questions at the end of each chapter encourage students to assess their mastery of a given concept. New Inquiry Figures focus students on the experimental process, and new Research Method Figures illustrate important techniques in biology. Each chapter ends with a Scientific Inquiry Question that asks students to apply scientific investigation skills to the content of the chapter.

The AP edition for this text was used in our AP Biology class at our high school and is very good. basically the entire course was a chapter every class from this book and the 12 labs for the AP exam. This book makes it very clear with the terms needed and it really prepared me for the exam (I got a five) The concepts were very clearly presented. The end of chapter quizzes helped a little, but the concept checks within the chapters really help understand what you were reading. The charts and figures helped to make clear and emphasize the key points for the tests and the AP exam. I would recommend this book to anyone wanting to learn biology for fun (like crazy ol’ me) or for school requirements of preparing for the AP test.

Horrible experience with this buyer named Nicki, who refused to reimburse after the item was lost in the mail and insisted it is not his fault but post office’s. Amazon Market Place should kick this seller out.

Biology was exactly as advertised, very big book came in great condition. Couple of minor dings in the cover; Definitely not light reading, you will want to understand Chemistry to get the most out of this book. I’m not done with it yet, so far it is been very good.

I was happy. Recieved the book 4 days after I ordered it and it was in good condition. CD worked.

The book was in good shape and had everything included. The only thing that needed improving was the shipping time. The book arrived a day late and when you need it for a current class it can be stressful waiting.
