Very in depth. Much for a nursing student to absorb. It covers topics covered in critical care books.

There is nothing worse than pulling out 2 books in the middle of lecture and then trying to find a chapter or section with the rest of the class. It was difficult to put both books in my Jansport back pack, and it was difficult taking them out without spilling everything else! Do yourself a favor and just by the single volume to save yourself a hassle. Content wise, there are some sections that go nicely into details, and then there are sections that come short on explanations. I guess you will need a library of nursing books to get the whole picture.

This textbook was required for my 2nd semester in nursing school. So far I really enjoy the layout of the book and the companion CD is also a big help. I find the required reading very interesting.

IF YOU USE THE BOOK FOR CLASS, DO NOT USE THE CD-ROM THAT IT COMES WITH FOR TEST REVIEW!!! THERE ARE AT LEAST FIVE ERRORS ON THE CD-ROM PERTAINING TO THE PRINTED CONTENT OF THE BOOK(S) THAT I’VE IDENTIFIED. IF YOU ARE READING THIS, YOU PROBABLY ALREADY KNOW THIS.
