I thought that these crayons were going to be much bigger- like jumbo size. I guess that was my mistake not reading the product description carefully- and it’s hard to tell size when you are ordering online. Anyway, the crayons seem to mark as easily and vibrantly as regular crayons- so I was pleased with that. I did notice however that they seem to make marks on clothing and skin much more easily than regular crayons. It seems that if they just touch something, color is transfered. (Granted, I haven’t used regular crayons for a while, but I don’t remember them making marks on clothing without a good amount of pressure.) I haven’t tested out the washability of these crayons yet- but I trust the marks they make can be cleaned up easily.

My 17 month old LOVES to color so I liked the wash-ability of these. So far (fingers crossed) she hasn’t colored on anything she shouldn’t but she did make a mark on the tummy of her shirt once while demonstrating things I say “No” to, and it came right out without any further treatment. Problem is, these break really easily and when she puts them in her mouth they mark on her tongue. I know they are nontoxic, and I am not worried about her consuming them, but if they transfer that easily I’d hate to see what happens if she spills water on them or something. So, since most of these broke (usually just with her normal coloring, but a few did get stepped on – which no crayon will withstand), and I worry about her choking on the pieces of broken crayon, and I have been throwing them away, I am going to get her a box of regular jumbo or large crayons next time we go out. We also have the Melissa and Doug triangular crayons which are ok but she doesn’t like them as much and the colors are not as rich. She gets preoccupied arranging them in the box instead of coloring, or pointing out that they are triangles.

So, overall very fun, but if you have an active toddler really into coloring, go for something sturdier!

I searched high and low through the retail stores in August since my son’s preschool supply list included Crayola preschool size crayons. I finally went to Amazon and found them quickly. Maybe I could buy them for a dollar or two cheaper at a regular store, but I’d have to find them in stock first. Amazon makes it easy to get what you need fast.

I didn’t think there was anything I could contribute about crayons, but these are incredible. Here’s what happened~ my 20 month old grandson was coloring with them, and one fell on the floor. The dog promptly started eating it, creating an instant mess. I went to the kitchen to throw out the remains, and I noticed my grandson went into the back room, but I was distracted, wiping the remains of the crayon off the rug (came up like magic). When I looked up, I saw my angel coloring the white bedroom door with the black crayon. Oh, he was so proud! After counting to 10, I returned to the kitchen and got a paper towel and put a drop of dishsoap on it. I wiped the door, and believe it or not, the crayon came right off, and left not a trace. There was no scrubbing involved at all. What else can I say? Oh they color as nice as the originals too, and are large for little hands. Try them, the price is also great!
