    I am a trained and experienced early childhood teacher. These are wonderful crayons and I highly recommend them! The soy wax allows these crayons to glide smoothly and blend beautifully. They are 100% natural and non-toxic. The vibrant colors come from mineral pigments. They were developed by a special ed teacher to help develop a child’s tripod grasp, necessary for learning to write.

    Unfortunately, because of their unique shape, many parents think that these crayons will be appropriate for babies and toddlers. They are not. These crayons are designed for children over the age of three. Because of their size, they could present a choking hazard for younger children.

    So if you have a child over three, you will not be disappointed. Drawing and writing are really more appropriate activities for children over three, so if you have a baby or toddler, my advice is to wait to purchase these until your child is older.

    These ‘rock’s are tiny. I can’t believe this is an ergo correct design for any age group. I bought these as starter crayon’s but will need to store these for about 4 years before ever giving them to my child. This is the perfect choking hazzard and the manufacturer should be embarrased. If this product was 3 times the size I think they would be great. This apparently was what I thought and even reading the dimensions the product is actually smaller! Do not buy!

    we really like these crayon rocks (haven’t been able to use them outside yet but they work as well on paper). They are easy for a toddler’s little fingers to hold, they have fun rich colors, and the bad they come in is nice. We used the crayon rocks to play counting and color games too!
    It’s a neat product!

    makes little hands write with proper hand placement. Great for beginning writers/toddlers. the color is very vibrant and smooth.

    These are for OLDER kids– not babies. For 3-6 year olds learning how to hold crayons and pencils. The Occupational Therapist for my 3 year old son recommended these so he could learn to hold writing utensils. Great for developing fine-motor skills.
