I’ve never written a bad review for a product before, but this machine is way beyond poor. We have lost two of these machines to paper jams that couldn’t be repaired, and talking to their customer service is a frustrating and unproductive experience. The set up is easy, and the print quality is fine. From a dependability standpoint however the printers are a zero. It is safe to say that we will never buy another Epson printer, and hope others will follow suit. It’s a poor, poor product regardless of the price.

If you need to scan to pdf then I would suggest you purchase something else.

I cannot go along with the glowing reviews for this product. In particular I have a dissenting opinion about the WF 610 software for the Event Manager and the Epson Scan. My digital mapping and certain other software require XP Pro.

Let me preface this whole comment by saying I have purchased and installed well over 50 printers over a 25 year period in/for my office. I have had the usual problems with printers in the past…but when they come up, they usually they get resolved after 1 or 2 support calls…not this time…not this product.

After hours and hours of trouble shooting on several different occasions, I know believe the Epson Software for the Event Manager and the Epson Scan is flawed. Constant communication errors ( and I have purchased two gold plated USB cables…just to make sure that it wasn’t a cable problem…I have also tested the port and tried other post, and they all work fine for my other printers. We also had the same problem on a different computer with a fresh install of XP Pro (with all the Service Pack updates, etc).On that install, we could get it to scan to PDF one time if we rebooted the system…after that, the communication error message appeared on the second attempt.

Also-now the WF 610 will not uninstall on one of my systems ( even when I attempted to clean it out with 3rd party removal tools)

Also-Software conflicts with other printers (especially our Pitney Bowes Mail Station2 postage meter software) which does not update the postage balance properly as long as the Epson software is active.

I have wasted an enormous amount of time trying to get the problem(s) resolved…so I have to say I am completely dissatisfied with the Workforce 610 and now Epson et al… Will not be purchasing another Epson from this point forward. If you plan on scanning to PDF and have XP Pro…take this review to heart.

I just got the 610. So far this is a very simple set up. I was on-line without a hitch. Very easy to understand instructions. The test print was really nice too. I just hope it will work well with my Windows 7, I read a review that said it did not scan to Windows 7, we will see, I will update this review as I gain experience. But the price is terrific.

This All-In-One printer has lots of features and prints with good quality. Also prints quickly for the type of printer it is. The wireless set up was a bit difficult and was a bit time consuming. I called Epson customer service, and they were very nice but unable to resolve the issue. I think it was a computer networking issue (not the printer). Therefore, I ended up setting it up as a ad hoc (peer-to-peer network) which works fine with all the laptops. I can print, scan, and even fax from all the laptops. If you have trouble setting up the wireless through your current router, consider the add manaul feature. Read the entire networking set-up instruction manual to see what would work best for your networking needs before you install. I was impressed with the price for all its abilities.

It’s a work-horse, easy to set-up and works flawlessly every time. I have connected it to both MAC and Windows 7 computers and works fine and easy, without any compatibility issues. It is user-friendly. I would recommend this printer, every single day and twice on Sunday. It’s by far the best printer you might get.
