I did not realize when I purchased this binder…since I was so excited that I got it when it was on a super special…that this did not have the traditional metal ring binder system. When I received them I was thrilled to discover the new plastic sliding ring system. It’s quiet; no loud snap when you close the rings. It is made of plastic; which will allow flexibility to the rings so they do not get misaligned which the metal ones do quite often which makes them completely useless…bonus feature to the plastic is no little wounds on the fingers from getting pinched by the metal rings.
I am thrilled with my purchase and wish I could have ordered more at that awesome price. I am willing to pay the regular price for them; so my next set of binders for college will be these.
It’s a simple, great binder. The rings have an easy open mechanism which works really well. The cover is nice and tough, and it has pockets front and back. You can put whatever you want in it, so you can easily create your own custom notebook.
I thought these binders might have the soft, bendable type of cover…but it does not. The covers are nice and sturdy. They do have some give to them, but not much. The interior cloth pockets are very nice. They look like they’re attached well to the inside of both front and back covers. The ring fixtures are plastic, though not cheap. The tru-lock feature is very nice and easy to use. You just gently pull down the latch on the bottom and the rings unlock and then open up. It is very quiet and simple. Closing is just as easy. This would be great for young children, as there is almost no risk of pinching yourself in the rings.
The price of the binder is very good, especially for as nice as they are. I’m very pleased with these, and will most likely purchase even more as I finish college.
