What I like about the iPoint is that it is compact, cordless, and automatically stops when done.

The fact that it’s cordless also means it’s less powerful than the corded sharpeners. I don’t have a corded iPoint for comparison, but it is quite a bit less powerful than other electric sharpeners I’ve used. It doesn’t sharpen nearly as quickly as the corded ones.

It does sharpen pencils to a a point well and my lead hasn’t broken inside it yet. I would recommend it for light duty use only. A teacher with a classroom full of pencils would probably not appreciate the sluggish speed.

Just one complaint; the rubber feet do not hold the unit stable when in use, so I have to use two hands. This unit is slower than others I’ve used, and the points are not very sharp, but I think that is why it does not break points. I’m pleased and would buy this sharpener again.

We bought this to replace the one we bought at a convenience store that was horrible.

The iPoint – 14204 works great for our kids sharpening their pencils. It’s simple to use. You just push down with the pencil until it stops. The point is plenty sharp for grade school kids and us. It’s also made in the USA. Now if we could just get it without paying shipping it would be all the better, but still a five star in our book.

I purchased this sharpener about a year ago and its still working great on the same batteries. I grew up in the 70′s with the tiny plastic sharpeners in my pencil case that were messy and barely sharpened my school pencils. Then working as a school teacher I had the clunky, square, noisy electric sharpener in my classroom and found it really messy to clean. This unit is great! It has a sleek, attractive design (reminds me of a mini kitchen blender)it hardly takes up any room because it has a vertical design, can be placed anywhere because it runs on batteries instead of electricity, and it has sharpened many of my pencils without any problems. It does make noise when its sharpening but its quick enough not to be bothersome to anyone. The clean-up is very easy with its removeable cap and cup. Overall, I recommend this product highly to anyone who likes to have finely sharpened pencils and is looking for a quick and easy way to get this task done. It also is an attractive desk top piece and would compliment any setting.
