    I’m studying on my own without a class or instructor. Can the online content be used this way, or is it necessary to have an instructor set up an account for you in an online learning environment? I have the impression you can visit the book’s own web site to access information and self-quizzes/-tests. Can I access these features on my own?

    Note, I rate it 3 stars based on my impression before purchasing — it seems at least “OK”, possibly very helpful (I’ll update rating later if I buy the text).

    This book was required for a class i am taking. It is easy to understand and one I will not be reselling! I will reference it often even when the class is over. The diagrams are wonderful. I wish I had more time to spend reading and digesting it; as I am in a fast paced class. Great book, highly recomed it.

    I found the book to be very well written. I was never good with biology in school but this book really explains things so I get it. It is a great resource for an online course. Lots of review and reinforcements. Many opportunities to quiz yourself. Like how you have more than one medium to learn from, the book and the cd.
